What is Glomerulonephritis? 

It is the inflammation of the glomeruli which prevents it from fully filtering the blood. In some cases it can not filter blood at all.

What does it effect?

Glomerulonephritis mainly effects the glomeruli found in the nephron and to certain extent tubules and blood vessels.

Causes and diagnosis 

Glomerulonephritis is from auto immune conditions, infections, environmental factors, idiopathic and rarely genetics. 

It is main diagnosed through lab testing.

The symptoms for Glomerulonephritis are:

  • Red/ pink or colored urine from red blood cells 

  • Foamy urine from excess protein leakage

  • High blood pressure  

  • Fluid retention with swelling in hands, feet, face and abdomen

  • Urinating in lower amounts

  • Nausea and vomiting 

  • Cramps in mussels 

  • Fatigue
